His name is Kenneth Lowther, but please call him Ken.
He is a Family Nurse Practitioner. Ken was born on the Marine Corps based in 29 Palms, California in 1963. Because his father was a Marine, he grew up pretty much all over the southwest.
Ken graduated from Boulder City High School in Boulder City Nevada, just 17 miles southeast of Las Vegas. He spent a brief period of time in the Army but was medically discharged due to vision problems. He then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Munich Germany. Ken is 55 years old, and is married to a wonderful woman named Laura. He has 3 grown children, 2 stepdaughters, and 7 grandchildren.
Ken has been in healthcare for 38 years. He first started as a first responder on a volunteer ambulance, which then progressed to EMT and paramedic. In addition, he was also a police officer for 5 years during this time period.
Ken graduated from The College of the Desert School of Nursing in Palm Desert, CA. 1993. The vast majority of his nursing career has been spent in the ER, ICU, and 5 years as a rotor wing flight nurse with the Arizona Highway Patrol out of Kingman AZ.
Ken graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. He then attended Graceland University out of Independence MO and graduated in 2011 with a Master’s of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Ken’s hobbies include reading, working out, and martial arts, in which he holds the rank of 4th degree black belt junior master in Shito Ryu Karate and Japanese jujitsu. He teachs karate at the Leavitt Center here in Pocatello.
